Located seven miles from Route 1 on the Maine coast near Belfast and Searsport, Swan Lake is a focal point and vacation destination for Maine residents and vacationers from all around the country. Three and a half miles long with approximately 350 camps and houses surrounding it, the lake is a virtual mecca for four-season recreation and enjoyment. Whether it's boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing or just enjoying the beautiful sunsets, Swan Lake seems to have something for everyone. Marked by its abundance of fish, birds, and other wildlife, the lake has become a well-known treasure here in the State of Maine.
Established in 1979, the Swan Lake Association's purpose is and will continue to be to preserve the natural beauty and water quality of Swan Lake and to uphold the principles and practices considered as being in the best interests of the lake, its watershed and its residents. To this end, we will continue to maintain and protect those issues deemed to be vital to the lake and all of its environs. The water monitoring, the boat inspections, the close watch on invasive plants and the issues relating to the dam all remain at the forefront of concern for the Association.
